Fore! Cupcakes are Comin'!

I have just finished a book called "How to Eat a Cupcake" by Meg Donohue. This is her first novel and was so good! Her book reminded me of my desire to be surrounded by cupcakes. I would so love to have a "Cupcakery" just as she mentions in her book. She brilliantly describes a variety of flavors along with how each character gets the most enjoyment from eating a cupcake. What's your style? I tend to pop the cake part off by twisting it from the delicious icing top and eat that first then savor every morsel of frosting on the top as it gets in every nook and cranny of my teeth. She also incorporates just enough mystery in each chapter that makes you want to keep reading to try to find out what is going to happen next. Her story of the character's friendship was what I enjoyed most beside the cupcakes. I think what I took away is that we all change and grow and act in ways we wish we hadn't when we are younger. Most friendships can endure.

So what do golf and cupcakes have to do with each other? Beginning this week my Wednesday evenings will be free through September because my other half is in a golf league. So naturally, I am going to bake cupcakes. Doesn't everyone when their husband is in a golf league? Taking cues from the movie  "Julie and Julia", I have come up with what I think is a fun and delicious idea! I am going to bake a different cupcake every week during this time, some of which are mentioned in "How to Eat a Cupcake" and share how they turn out, tips and talk about what doesn't work on my blog. It will be a little less personal blog but I am sure there will be some of that "sprinkled" or "jimmied" in as I would say but don't even get me started on that debate. This will be my own personal "Happiness Project" by cupcake, kind of my virtual Cupcakery. I hope you will join me in all the happiness that a miniature cake can bring and check in often.
