Getting ready to kick off. |
I made it through the first football game of the season without puking so I call that a victory. I get very, very nervous when my boy is playing football. I have really tried to analyze why and tell myself it is just football but it is not JUST football to by boy. He has worked so hard for so long to master what he does-kick a football crazy far. This was his debut, his first time starting since he became a UConn Husky three years ago. He went out there and was 100 percent for the night, three field goals, perfect extra points and perfect kick-offs.We couldn't be more happy for him. He has done all the hard work, kept his grades up, and been a dedicated team player. It's all him, not us. I have always truly believed God have him his talent for a greater reason and it is really wonderful to see that it true. We have three great kiddos and are so very blessed.
As if that wasn't enough, my cute dad went and had a heart attack after the game. He is going to be just fine. He was able to get two stents put in and no surgery was needed so that is the best possible outcome. Dad is so loved and my parents have been so supportive of all our kids and he felt so bad that this happened. Silly Dad, we are just so grateful he is OK. He is planning to come to next week's game. He doesn't like to miss being there for Chad. That is very sweet.
Not sure if we can top opening day but I am willing to give it a try.
