What's in a Name?

I think most people I know that have a dog have numerous names for their pet friend. We have always given our dogs nicknames. Some that make sense, some that totally don't. Gun'r has been a part of our family for almost two months and we have all settled in to calling him various names of affection. Gunny, Gunny Sack, Sack, Snoopy, and my personal favorite, Gunther. That name just makes me laugh and I feel like it suites him. Not sure why, but it does. Gun'r has stolen our hearts.
We had a few rough patches at first. He is very settled into being a house dog now just as long as he gets two long walks a day. His enthusiasm for these walks is so irresistible that even I put on boots, hat, gloves and go out in the wicked winter weather just so his cute hound face is happy. He has been banished to his ginormous Serta dog bed only because he was a little territorial on the couch. Cesar, the Dog Whisperer is right about this. Gun'r is happy on his bed and hasn't had one little growly episode since.
He did decide to pull the feathers from a stuffed goose that was downstairs today. I caught him with feathers in his mouth, while in the act. He has been eyeing this goose since he came here. Rich figured it was a matter of time. He didn't even get mad at him.
Here are some candid shots of Gunther (snicker). Makes me laugh every time.

One word, Ears.

His good side.

Looking for ducks in the creek below. I am sure he would not do what he did to the goose to them. Right? Right?

He always ends up with his head flopping over the side. Very "Snoopy."

You are seeing things right. He thinks he is a lap dog. He was so happy in Rich's lap.
