What you think in your noggin

Zzzzzzz
Clearly Gun'r has no cares in the world. Oh to be a spoiled Coonhound. I on the other hand have had alot going on in my noggin lately so allow me to share.

What you need to know is that at work our main form of entertainment has been to be sarcastic about pretty much everything. It was what got us through a day. It seemed funny and harmless but what I realized was happening is that is was causing a negative spirit and being divisive. I read a devotional recently titled "Mouth Trap" that related how God was able to shut the mouths of lions when Daniel was in the lion's den so why can't he shut our mouths when we begin to say things we shouldn't. Hmm, thought provoking right? I was convicted. I talked to my friends at work and apologized for not being a very good friend by leading them down that path. I am the older of our gang and should be wiser. We all agreed to really make an effort to change our ways. What we found was happening was all those thoughts were getting bottled up in our heads since we weren't speaking them and I personally felt like my head was going to explode. The question came up that even if we don't speak those words but think them, is that still wrong? I thought I knew the answer but went to a great source for guidance, my father-in-law who is a retired pastor. He of course, provided great insight to this.

He encouraged us to memorize scripture that will remind us that our thoughts need to be tamed and hearts changed. A great verse he mentioned was Ephesians 5:4 "Let there be no filthiness nor foolish and sinful talk, nor course jesting, which are not fitting or becoming, but instead voice your thankfulness."

It is a process, no kidding. We have all said it is tough not to have things creep into our minds but it is getting easier and know that since it's the right thing to do there will be blessings from it.

I am so grateful for the great friends that I have and that we can fight this battle together. It is a battle, one that Satan tries to win every day.

Blessings to all my friends this Easter.
